Best Body Weight Exercises for Martial Arts Strength Training

If you want to build martial arts strength without building bulk, try body weight exercises (where you use only your own weight to perform an exercise versus using dumbbells, etc.). Body weight exercises are also useful if you do not have access to a gym (i.e. at home, at work or on vacation). The body weight training exercises below will build your martial arts strength. Moreover, in many cases, they will also boost your martial arts stamina and conditioning (i.e. squat thrusts). If you are looking for weight training ideas (i.e. free weights) to build your strength, please visit our main Taekwondo Strength Training page.

Visit our main Strength TrainingWarm-Up, Speed Training, Stamina & Conditioning and Explosive Power sections for more Taekwondo strength training ideas.

Best Body Weight Exercises - Click on the title of each body weight exercise in order to view instructional videos that show you how to perform that particular exercise (i.e. push-ups).
