Taekwondo Spear Hand Strike

These videos show you how to utilize a spear hand strike. In this technique, you use the tips of your fingers (on an open hand with fingers together) in order to strike soft areas such as an opponent's neck. To make this strike more effective, try to pull your index back modestly so it is parallel with your forefinger (you want the fingers at the same level because it generates a greater striking surface & lessens the chance of injuring your index finger). For other strikes & punches, please visit our Taekwondo Punches page.

* Use a punching bag or practice dummy to perfect your punches & strikes.
